5 out of 5 starsI was looking for a hand carved wooden spoon to use for stirring honey into my tea. I have a variety of hand thrown pottery mugs along with a couple that were painted by my late aunt so I wanted something special. This works perfectly and feels wonderful in my hand

How do I care for my spoon?
Spoon Care and Maintenance
Your handmade wooden spoon is sanded to a smooth surface and sealed with food-safe *Tried and True oil to seal the wood. Make sure to leave yours out of standing water, and don’t use the dishwasher for cleaning. We hope you will enjoy using and cooking with your spoons daily. The more they are used, the wood will acquire its unique character. Some woods, like cherry, will get darker over time with exposure. You can give your dry spoons a light sanding from time to time with 400 fine grit sandpaper, apply a light coat of oil, let dry, and polish with a soft cloth. *Danish oil is also linseed oil. It is food and environmentally safe.
What woods do you use for your spoons?
Cherry: Richly-grained honey-colored wood. Cherry usually deepens over time, creating a richer hue. Some darker sap lines may be visible.
Walnut: Chocolate-colored wood. Some grain can be visible. Walnut wood can be light or dark.
Ambrosia Maple: Grain patterns in wood caused by abnormal growing conditions, also called figured maple, allow for contrasting shades of light and dark. "The streaked wood offers a unique and charming appearance that captures the essence of nature at work. Surprisingly, the wood is just regular maple that's been visited by certain beetles who left holes that allowed a fungus to discolor the wood. Don't worry -- kiln drying evicted all bugs from the wood."
Birch: Light to reddish-brown, wavy /curly grain
